I think I've found out why I do not like Chagall

Very simple: He was too lazy to paint properly. Things like proper shading, proper proportions, proper shading, concerns for realism and even PERSPECTIVE were apparently not necessary for him.

A disproportionately high percentage of his paintings could be mistaken for a child's crayon drawings, and took about as much skill to make.

(which is about the same reason that I do not like other 20th century art movements than neo-realism and the better end of surrealism - I mean, when is that last time Tanguy or Giger painted something which any child could reproduce)



You know there is something wrong with the artistic establishment when art galleries show the most vague amount of interest in Chagall while Christopher Foss' work is confined to the covers of novels.

Added a sketch to my scrapbook. I think I am really improving on my ability to draw people.

Oh, said sketch is actually an incomplete full drawing; expect to see a full version of it later.


The next thing I will start work on will be a rendition of how I envision the main characters in "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" (the novel).
